QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER  High School: What do you hope to achieve in high school? What is your GPA goal? What goals do you have for taking challenging courses? What goals do you have for partipating in extracurriuclar activities? What social goals do you have? (clubs)

QUESTIONS…  College: What college do you want to attend? What do you hope to achieve in college? What is your future major/minor? What degrees do you hope to earn? (Associates, Bachelors, Masters, Doctorate) What academic goals do you have for college? (Scholarships, Deans List) What social groups do you plan on joining?

PRIORITIZE  What are your top two goals for each section? Highlight/Underline them On a separate sheet of paper creare a CLUSTER MAP, that will help start to plan and create your Life Goals Essay

ON YOUR OWN  Establish the audience, form, and purpose of your essay Who are you writing to? How do you want to present it? What purpose do you have for your writing? What do you want me to gain from this? Summarize what you learned today on your writing log?

FRIDAY  Bell Ringer: What is important to help you draft your essay? What resources do you need to write, outline, and create?  Get Cluster Map and Rubric Out with blank paper, we are going to create an outline of your paper!

SUMMARY  What did we do today?  How does outlining help with writing an essay?  Are your goals detailed enough to write about?  Do you need to get any resources to help you write? If so, where can you get them?  Complete summary on calendar!

MONDAY  Bell Ringer: What is the purpose and advantages in creating multiple revisions of an essay? How do you plan to use your draft?  You will have the entire period to complete your DRAFT

DRAFT WRITING  Use your CLUSTER MAP  Follow the OUTLINE FORMAT  Don’t stress about spelling and grammar  Create 4 organized paragraphs  Include details with your goals

SUMMARIZE  What strategies helped you draft today?  What do you need to do to revise your draft?  Put on your weekly calendar!

FRIDAY  Bell Ringer: read over your draft, in one sentence sum up what your essay is about. This is your THESIS Statement

REVISION  How do you give feedback to a writer? Identify Strenghts of paper Identify Weaknesses Edit Grammar and Spelling Read for Understanding Give Ideas to help Use Rubric to help!
