What does the character do? 1. Read the prompt carefully 2. Begin by brainstorming possible CDs 3. Circle the 2 CDs that have the most in common. (These will be CD1 and CD2 on your paragraph outline) 4. Brainstorm CMs 5. Circle the CM that is the biggest idea. It should be the CM that applies to all of your CMs. 6. Answer the writing prompt using this main CM- Fill in the topic sentence box on your outline. CMs The character feels ____ on the inside.

CM 2 CM 1 Step 7: Web Off the Word for Commentary Sentences- Write your main CM in the center circle. Brainstorm 2 synonyms. Fill in one for box CM1 and one for CM2. Brainstorm 2 more synonyms for CM1 and CM2. (This guarantees varied word choice.) Step 8: Write 4 CMs using the synonyms your brainstormed. Remember to link it back to your main argument. * Transfer the CMs to your outline once you have finished.
