Wordsolving Learning New Vocabulary Using Several Layers

The Eight Layers 1.Locating a definition in a reference book. 2.Break a word down into its parts. (Syllables) 3.Explain a word’s meaning in a way that makes sense to you. 4.Use the word properly in a sentence. 5.Identify words you might easily confuse it with or point out unrelated meanings. 6.Identify the word in the text you are reading. 7.Connecting the word to other words you know, and being able to find other words that mean the same thing. 8.Create a visual definition/representation.
