GDS Committee n2002 Accomplishments: n April – Negotiations with Cypress Semiconductor concluded. USB development kits were made freely available to GSA member companies. n July – Software frameworks for the Cypress USB development kits were released. n August – Beta device drivers for Microsoft Windows TM Operating Systems were released. n September – Several USB device prototypes were demonstrated. n November – Phase I and II deliverables defined. n December – The GDS committee was partitioned into device-focused workgroups.

GDS Committee n2003 Accomplishments/Milestones: n Feb – Relationship between USB-IF and GDS standards movement established. n April – Release of Phase I draft specification. n May – US regulatory presentation delivered at Biloxi conference. n July – Release of Phase I beta test tools and cross platform capable device driver/API. n September – Release of Phase I final specification, test tools and driver/API. n September – Demonstration of Phase I USB devices at G2E. n November – Release of Phase II draft specification.
