PART 1 ONE-SYLLABLE ADJECTIVES / -er-est

Grammar rules 1 –er, -est small – smaller – smallest, tall – taller - tallest 2 adjectives ending in – e large – larger – largest, nice - nicer - nicest 3-ier, - iest for adjectives ending in –y heavy – heavier – heaviest 4double consonant big – bigger - biggest, thin – thinner - thinnest

How to compare as … as 1. He is as tall as my friend. Comparatives 2. He is taller than my friend. Superlatives 3. He is the tallest.

Practise 1 Peter is 2 years old and Paul is two too. Peter is as old as Paul. 2 Kate is 13 and Susan is 10 years old. Susan is younger than Kate. Kate is older than Susan. 3 I am 150 cm tall, my mum is 170 and dad is 180 cm tall. My mum is taller than me and smaller than dad. My dad is the tallest. I am the smallest.
