1 corinthians 15 death has been swallowed up in victory

but thanks be to god! he gives us the victory through our lord jesus christ 1 corinthians 15:57

vs 1-7 ‘as of first importance’ vs 1-3a – this is the foundation Vs 3b-7 – christ died for our sins he was buried he was raised on the third day he appeared to cephas, the twelve, more than five hundred (most of whom are still alive), to the apostles, to paul personally.

vs ‘but christ has indeed been raised’ vs 12 – the corinthian heresy vs – the futility of Christianity without resurrection vs 20 – paul’s reassuring conviction (the firstfruits)

vs taunting death why can’t flesh and blood inherit the kingdom of heaven? what is the relationship between sin, law and death (cf romans 7 & 8)? transformation (firstfruits) – clothed with the imperishable / immortal so death has been undone, reversed, humiliated.

in conclusion…

1 corinthians 15 death has been swallowed up in victory
