Jesus is alive

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

… some of our women amazed us … their eyes were opened and they recognized him … it is true Jesus is Alive … the only reasonable conclusion

No event since the world began has been so fully proved by the concurrent testimonies of so many people. Therefore, if we entertain a view of history that excludes the resurrection of Christ, we do more than repudiate Biblical history. We repudiate the very possibility of history, for other past events have less evidence in their favour. E.J. Carnell Jesus is Alive … the only reasonable conclusion

Jesus is Alive … what difference does it make

“Death has been swallowed up in victory.” “ Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” Jesus is Alive … what difference does it make

Jesus is Alive … what difference does it make … a brand new kind of life … death has lost its power

Jesus has forced open a door that had been locked since the death of the first man. He has met, fought and beaten the King of Death. Everything is different because he has done so. CS Lewis The power that has tyrannized the old creation has been broken, defeated, overthrown. God’s kingdom is now launched, and launched in power and glory, on earth as in heaven. NT Wright Jesus is Alive … what difference does it make

sin rebellion disobedience death x x x x Jesus is Alive … what difference does it make

Jesus is Alive … what difference does it make we have been set free from sin

Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life—no longer at sin’s every beck and call! What we believe is this: If we get included in Christ’s sin-conquering death, we also get included in his life-saving resurrection. We know that when Jesus was raised from the dead it was a signal of the end of death-as-the-end. Jesus is Alive … we have been set free from sin

Jesus is Alive … what difference does it make we have been given new life

… if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you Jesus is Alive … we have been given new life

Jesus is Alive … what difference does it make heaven has broken into this world

Jesus is Alive … where to from here believe the message

Jesus is Alive … where to from here stand firm

From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word. You are dead to sin and alive to God. That’s what Jesus did.

That means you must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives. Don’t give it the time of day. Don’t even run little errands that are connected with that old way of life. Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time—remember, you’ve been raised from the dead!—into God’s way of doing things. Sin can’t tell you how to live. After all, you’re not living under that old tyranny any longer. You’re living in the freedom of God.

Jesus is Alive … where to from here give yourself to the work of God
