Assignment II File ISP Provider Personal home use: Assuming no large time spent online dial up is adequate for the average home user. Looking in the area code for available ISP providers the most affordable (cheapest) is Mailaka Internet Services ( They offer “Web Site Hosting, Domain Name Registration $6.95/mo Reliable Unlimited Internet Access, month-to-month NO CONTRACT, no ads, no busy signals, and personal web space included. Spam & Virus protection included!! No setup fees or hidden costs.” If you are looking for a more mainstream provider JUNO is good alternative. Traveling business man & Small business use: The traveling business man/small business can use dial up as well assuming that they are not going to be doing large file transfers or any quantity of smaller file transfers. The nature of the traveling businessman requires global access similar to what the popular AOL offers. The most cost effective for both of these is Earthlink ( or broadband when you factor in what is included (noted below). Earthlink also allows the business man or business to determine if a larger bandwidth connection is more desirable due to them offering a variety of speeds to include dial-up (ISDN, 33.6, 56K), dedicated (T3, Frame Relay, FracT3, T1, DSL), and broadband (Satellite, DSL, Cable, Wireless, Small Business, Residential). Earthlink is a good overall choice that will allow ease of upgrading or downgrading required services as the business’ needs change or fluctuate. Earthlink features: Web Site Hosting, Domain Name Registration, 24 Hour Support, Toll Free Phone Support Nationwide Cable & DSL, Satellite, LAN ISDN (w/ dynamic IP address), RealMedia Server.
