What are rights in general? Rights are things a person/animal are suppose to be guaranteed in life. Something you are entitled to. What is an example of a right? An example of a right would be the right to an education or the freedom of opinion and expression. Is there a charter of rights and freedoms for Canada? Yes there is. It is The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

What is it? This document is a document of rights and freedoms that applies not just to one nation but to everyone. (Article 2) How is this charter of rights broken up? It is broken up in to articles. What is an article? An article is there to distinguish between separate rights.

In this case, a violation is an abuse towards a person’s rights. Example of a violation is with Article 5 example.

According to an Amnesty U.S.A. article; “In the review of 2009 by the Afghan-international Joint Co- ordination Monitoring Board (JCMB) acknowledged that progress in the area of human rights has been slow.” Does the Universal Declaration of Human Rights apply to the Afghanistan people? Yes they do. Refer to Article 2.

Are there violations in Afghanistan? Yes, there are human rights violations in Afghanistan. Are human rights improving? They are but improving slowly. Refer to the Amnesty U.S.A. quote.

Human rights violations were in different parts of the charter. The examples of human rights violations I will give are; Freedom of speech and press. Disappearance.
