She was born a slave in 1797.

Sojourner ran to her freedom in She was a slave and hated it. A few years later she met Mr. Abraham Lincoln.

Soon everyone knew about Sojourner Truth. She gave speeches about how bad slavery is.

One of her famous quotes is I am not going to die, Im going home like a shooting star.

Sadly she died of old age in She lived to be 86 years old!

Ms. Truth never gave up even when times were hard. She was born a slave and escaped and then became famous. I think she was a very brave girl and had a lot of heart to help prevent slavery for her people.
