Vintage Postcard Project A design challenge

The design CHALLENGE: You are working for a company who asks you to design a POSTCARD in a VINTAGE-inspired style for a city, state or country.

How many images do you see? Why would these images be used?

How are object sizes different in the foreground, middle and background? What is the postcard trying to sell about Puerto Rico?

How has the designer made “Boston” stand out? What Photoshop effect will do the same thing?

What is this postcard trying to sell? How does it do that?

Why would a designer incorporate images with the map?

What has the designer emphasized? How do you know?

How has the designer used color to create the idea of space?

CRITERIA City/State/Country Name of city/state/country emphasized Use gradients, stroke, bevel and emboss effects, type along a path Border/Frame around outside of postcard. Cloud filter background A postcard stamp from the city/state/country Altered opacity At least 3 images (high resolution-no pixel distortion) Think about what you are trying to SELL about the place! Images must be changed 90% Use filters, postarized effect, size changes, hue/saturation change Example: Colorado Springs
