Secret Streets! Write up of the field trip.

Step one: Hypothesis Are all streets in a settlement laid out in the same way? –This is what we were trying to find out. Now we have to use our information collected to answer this question.

Step two: Data Collection So what did you do? Could you explain it so well that someone could go and complete the trip again by just following your description?! – So explain how you collected the data, what did you do, how did you do it. – Include the map here that shows the route and location of the Street Detective sheets and the photos.

Step three: Data Presentation & Interpretation Now you have to show your results in graphs and tables and then interpret what they show. – Present your data, use tables, graphs, maps etc. Relate all the data back to the hypothesis.

The write up… Step 1: Hypothesis: –‘Are all streets in a settlement laid out the same way?’ Step 2: Data Collection: –Explain how you collected the data, what did you do, how did you do it. Step 3: Data presentation & interpretation: –Present your data, use tables, graphs, maps etc. Relate all the data back to the hypothesis Step 4: Conclusion: –What is the answer to the hypothesis question? How can you tell? How does your data show this? How could you improve your investigation if you did it again?
