BREAKOUT SESSION OBJECTIVE: Crafting the way forward for Caribbean Civil Societies response to NCDs Generate inputs for the HCC Action Plan and an HCC Advocacy Plan FACILITATORS: BEATRIZ CHAMPAGNE, Inter American Heart Foundation and GINA PITTS, Heart & Stroke Foundation of Barbados

World Health Assembly May Adopt a global target of a 25% reduction in premature mortality from noncommunicable diseases by 2025 “25 BY 25” Strong support for targets in four main risk factors, tobacco use harmful use of alcohol unhealthy diet (salt) physical inactivity Support for development of targets –obesity, fat intake, alcohol, cholesterol and health system responses such as availability of essential medicines for noncommunicable diseases
