We are going to have an interesting and productive year filled with exciting activities!

 Please do not send your child to school with the following items:  Backless shoes  Tank tops  Rolling bookbags Refer to the handbook

Please put all notes inside the front pocket of the Travel Binder. This helps me see the note right away. This can include scheduling conferences and transportation changes. All transportation changes MUST be in writing.

We pass out awards four times a year. I don’t GIVE your children awards, they EARN awards. Award categories are Highest Reader, Math Fact Mastery, Sight Word Mastery, Citizenship, and Attendance.

One of the most important aspects of our classroom is following rules. It is mandatory that we have rules to promote an orderly and safe atmosphere for teaching and learning to occur.

We will create a list of rules for our classroom together during the first week of school. A letter will go home with your child discussing the rules and consequences.

 Please check this binder EVERY NIGHT !  The binder should come back EVERY DAY !  There will be items in the binder that should not be removed (sight words, behavior chart, etc.).  Please initial behavior chart to show that you have checked the binder.  The spiral notebook for notes and homework should always stay in the binder.

Homework is given every night. That includes reading a fluency passage or book. Social Studies and Science homework will be project based

 All work for the week will be sent home on Fridays in a large file folder.  Please go over the work in the folder with your child.  Return the EMPTY Center Work folder on Monday. Center Work Folder

PE Please make sure they have appropriate shoes. Music and Art

 We will have two conferences during the school year.  If you need to set up a meeting before conference time, just give me a call or send an .  For your convenience, conferences may be home visits, telephone calls, or in person.

 School begins promptly at 8:00.  Students must be physically in the room when the bell rings or they will be marked tardy.  Absences will require a written note.  Check your handbook for more information.
