V5 Master schedule plan n Present here the main steps and planned dates of the developments for your WP in V5 n List issues, risks … (if any) MyOcean2 V4.1 Acceptance & V5 Product Design Workshops – June 2014

MyOcean2 Design Workshop – Barcelona 6,7,8th June 2012 Master Schedule (review of the 1st MyO-2 Master Plan) Model improvementDelivery Improvement of operational suite: decrease CPU time, increase robustness V3 and V4 River input improvement V3 Solving the BU issueV3 New stress parameterization taking waves into account V4 Possible new Heat flux formulationV4 Nudging for spin-upV4 Change of model version from 2.3 to 3.4V4 Vertical turbulence with input form wavesV4 Data assimilationECOMF… Still on the plan … Tested, but decided not to be applied at MyO2 stage Testing delayed to MyO2 end (Op impl. at V5; if demonstrated) Testing delayed to MyO2 end (Op impl. at V5; if demonstrated)

MyOcean2 Design Workshop – Barcelona 6,7,8th June 2012 Master Schedule Plan for MyO-FO and beyond (Copernicus….) Model improvementDelivery Possible new Heat flux formulationV5 (if demonstrated at the end MyO2) Nudging for spin-upV5 (if demonstrated at the end MyO2) Production and/or Dissemination of waves products Copernicus (if decided at Top Level) New stress parameterization taking waves into account Copernicus Vertical turbulence with input form wavesCopernicus Data assimilationCopernicus

V5 Master schedule plan n List issues, risks … (if any) n V5 fixed at the end of MyO-FO. (Acceptance in Dec-2014) n Jump from MyO-2 to MyO-FO and the short time extension of MyO-FO (6 months) introduce some risk of discontinuity in the Team (risk high at PdE PC). n Very likely we will have to face a temporary limitation in terms of human resources for the MyO-FO period. n Activities related to provide the committed Operational Service will be the priority (and will not be affected). n However, R&D activities, Tier-1 and system updates capabilities may be affected by the human resources gap. n This is main reason because some continuity between V4 and V5 is planned. n Leaving significant changes ahead for further Copernicus upgrades. MyOcean2 V4.1 Acceptance & V5 Product Design Workshops – June 2014

V5 Change impact n Provide information on products updates likely impact (on external or internal users (TAC  MFC)) MyOcean2 V4.1 Acceptance & V5 Product Design Workshops – June 2014 n Provide information on impact mitigation (double dissemination timeframe, availability of samples, …)
