Confronting Idols Holiness in a Hostile World Daniel 3:1-18

In order to live holy in a hostile world we will have to deal with idols of the world & our hearts.

God had demonstrated: His ability to sustain & nourish his people His ability to give wisdom in time of need

Summary Point: The world erects idols that it expects all to worship. All those who desire to maintain their place (in this system) they expect to submit.

-Has something other than Jesus taken title to my hearts functional trust? – -Not what I say but what I really do.

Summary Point: Would you be considered in the crowd who does not live according to the values of the environment as they oppose Gods values?

Summary Point: We reject idols from forming in our hearts when we realize that relationship with God is at the center.

What are some idols? – Success Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego held allegiance to God above the position He gave them. -Significance & Approval

Summary Point: The world may want to give you another chance to “cave in” but a resolve to maintain your walk with God will keep your view clear.

Summary Point: In order to remain standing against idols, you will have to be okay with God answering as He chooses when you are faced with the consequences.

O to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be! Let thy goodness, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee. Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love; here's my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above.
