Timing Consideration Typical FYP presentation session is only 30 minutes. This means you have: –20 minutes for your slides. –5 minutes for demonstration (for developmental project). –5 minutes for Q & A. August 2015 2015 Multimedia University2
Presentation Slides Assuming you have 20 minutes to showcase your slides, and 1 minute per slide, this would roughly works out to 20 slides. Generally you can have more than 20 slides, by breaking down your slides into the Main and Secondary slides. The Main slides are the one to be shown during your presentation, so keep it to not more than 20 slides. The Secondary slides contain supplementary information, for example mathematical derivations, detailed schematics, computer codes, extra results, photos etc. which can be use to substantiate your work if questions are asked during the session. For Those Project With Hardware/Software Demonstration Take note of Murphy’s Law - Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. It is important that your final project showcase works during the presentation. So be fully prepared, always have back-up, for instant a main hardware on PCB version, and another prototype on project board.
