Romans 12:2 New King James Version 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Romans 12:2 New Century Version (NCV) 2 Do not be shaped by this world; instead be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you; you will know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect.

Romans 12:2 The Message (MSG) So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking.

Romans 12:2 The Message (MSG) Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

Breaking It Down  (What?) Do NOT be conformed to this world!  Be transformed! (How?) by the renewing of your mind.  (Why?) So you will know what God wants you to do.

(What?) Do NOT be conformed to this world!  “But ‘everyone’ is doing ‘it’”—DO NOT BE CONFORMED TO THIS WORLD!  “’That’ (God’s way) doesn’t make sense. No one does it ‘that’ (God’s way) way”—DO NOT BE CONFORMED TO THIS WORLD!  “I did it ‘my’ way”—DO NOT BE CONFORMED TO THIS WORLD!

GOD’S WAY Isaiah 55:9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Be transformed! (How?) by the renewing of your mind. Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. Colossians 3:2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

Be transformed! (How?) by the renewing of your mind. Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the L ORD : I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 1 Peter 4:1 Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,

Be transformed! (How?) by the renewing of your mind.  Simple: Our minds can only be renewed by time spent in God’s Word and time spent in prayer. John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

(Why?) So you will know what God wants you to do.  We are not “saved” to just “sit” and be content that we have everlasting life. NO! We have a job to do!  Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

We MUST be Seasoned & Flavored SALT! Matthew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. Mark 9:49 “For everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt. Mark 9:50 Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another.”

Life Application 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.  Our lifestyle will draw others to Christ! John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.  We lift up Christ by showing that the “old man” has passed away and that we are crucified with Christ! Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Kingdom Principles (Part 2)

Kingdom of Priests! Exodus 19:6 6 And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation…

Be Holy! 1 Peter 1:16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” Leviticus 11: For I am the L ORD your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy. Neither shall you defile yourselves with any creeping thing that creeps on the earth. 45 For I am the L ORD who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

?  So how are we to become a “Kingdom of Priests”?  How are we to be “holy” ?  We covered part of it in part one…remember?

Consecration Leviticus 11: For I am the L ORD your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy. Neither shall you defile yourselves with any creeping thing that creeps on the earth. 45 For am the L ORD who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

How Do We “Consecrate” Ourselves To The Lord? Romans 6:11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 1 Corinthians 15:31 I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

Kingdom Principles vs The World’s Principles Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Kingdom Principles vs The World’s Principles  Remain Pure before marriage vs “try out” the package so you know if you like it  Money is tight so increase your giving into the Kingdom of God vs Money is tight so give less and save more in your bank  Keep your word regardless of the personal cost vs “well, this is too hard, so I’m going to do what is best for me”  Pray for and extend a hand of love for your brother/sister who blew it big time restoring him vs criticize and expose the faults of your brother (“friend”) and dis-associate with him as not to cause others to look down on you.  Follow the teachings of God’s Word vs Do what everyone else is doing believing the Bible to be “old fashioned” and “out of date”

Point To Ponder Til Part 3 1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?  How does that affect your actions?
