H EROES 2.0 Eric Schwender, Lucy Kurtz, Abbie Stallings, Garrett O’Bryan

Purpose herOes 2.0 is designed to target bullying in the elementary school systems by performing skits with superheroes and super villains. Performed in front of grades 3-5 at Burns and Highland with a target audience of students.

Evidence of Community Health Problem Bullying becomes an issue typically at the age of 11 (our project would address it before middle school). 1 in 3 students report being bullied on school property in grade school.

Evidence of need Percent of students affected by bullying 11 or younger-42.9% % % 14 or older-39.8% ( Kentucky Department of Education, 2011).

Goal Goal: our goal is to increase the awareness of bullying and its negative consequences that can occur.

Objectives Objective 1: obtain funding through grants Objective 2: schedule performance at local elementary schools Objective 3: make up and practice our skits/prepare for the performance Objective 4: perform skits and administer tests.

Budget The planned budget is to be $600. Budget will be used to buy costumes ($300), printing ($150), and props (under $50) (Amazon, 2013). Extra $180 used for extra expenses we will have.

Conclusion In conclusion, our project hopes to: Prevent bullying Raise awareness in a younger audience Provide teachers with a report of their student’s knowledge Prevent future problems down the road Make the community a better place!
