In the example below, determine the circumference of the circle when given the diameter.

Determining Diameter or Radius from Circumference Sometimes you may be asked to determine the diameter or radius of a circle when given the circumference. Simply use your formula for the circumference of a circle and work backwards to solve algebraically.

Converting Between Circumference and Area Using the methods from the previous slide, you can determine the area of a circle from it’s circumference, and vice versa. This will take multiple steps, so be sure to be organized!
