Types of Sentences A declarative sentence tells something. It ends with a period. An interrogative sentence asks a question. It ends with a question mark. An imperative sentence gives an order. It ends with a period OR an exclamation point. An exclamatory sentence expresses strong feelings. It ends with an exclamation point.

Predicates The predicate tells something about the subject. When the predicate is only one word it is called a simple predicate. A complete predicate contains all the words that tell what the subject is or does. The letter Max wrote was lost in the mail.

The environment in the Student Center is also positive. Many happy young people are talking and laughing. However, the atmosphere is still calm; it’s possible to study and do homework. It is nice to go to the student center cafeteria once in a while, if feel a little like home away from home.
