Requirements to Vote Must be a US citizen Legal residency of your stat 18 years old on or before election day Cannot vote if you have been convicted with a felony and serving time in prison Cannot vote if you have been declared mentally incompetent

Requirements to be a Candidate (President) Natural-born citizen of United States Permanent resident of the United States of America for at least 14 years Can not have served more than one previous term as president Can not have been impeached by the Senate Can not have participated in a rebellion against the US Must be at least 35 years of age
