Question #1 If I find some information that answers my thesis statement, I can put the information in my own words and I don't have to give credit to the source in my paper.

Answer FALSE! FALSE! Even if you have put the information in your own words, it does not mean that you did the research or writing. If you did reword information in your paper, but did not cite it, this is called plagiarism.

Question #2 It is acceptable to copy and paste information from a website into a paper I am writing.

Answer False! False! Copying and pasting (or simply copying) from any media source is plagiarism.

Question #3 If I have changed two words of the author's text, I have paraphrased the information sufficiently.

Answer False! False! To paraphrase means to put the information in your own words. Changing only a few words of text does not mean you have paraphrased the information.
