Charged Particle Generated Electromagnetic Fields and Radiation P. Karataev – The co-ordinator John Adams Institute for Accelerator Science at Royal Holloway, University of London, Egham, UK 1 CPGEM 7 th Framework Programme Marie Curie Initial Training Network

7 th Framework Programme 2 7 th Framework Programme was set-up by European Community for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration Activities within four types of activities: 1. trans-national cooperation on policy-defined themes - the ‘Cooperation’ programme; 2. investigator-driven research based on the initiative of the research community - the ‘Ideas’ programme; 3. support for individual researchers - the ‘People’ programme; 4. support for research capacities - the ‘Capacities’ programme.

Marie Curie Actions - ‘People’ Programme 3 Marie Curie Actions is a major part of the People programme designed to  Train-through-research -Early Stage Researchers (Doctoral Level) -Experienced Researchers (Post-Doctoral-Level) The People programme has been designed to bring education, research and innovation closer to each other to attract, train and retain in Europe the next generation of researchers who will be able to address major societal challenges.  Involvement of Industry, including SMEs;  International Cooperation;  Knowledge sharing, dissemination and open access.

Charged Particle Generated Electromagnetic Fields and Radiation 4 CPGEM Participants: Level 1: Full Partners contribute directly to implementation of the network, i.e. recruitment of ESRs and SRs, lead the researchers, assess the outcome and appraisal of the trainees; Level 2:Associate Partners help with implementation of the network and benefit from the knowledge exchange, joint research and development. Marie Curie – Initial Training Network! This action aims in training-through-research the Early Stage Researchers and improve their carrier perspectives in both public and private sectors.
