Introduction to the Mobile Phone. Development of the Mobile Phone. Uses of this technology. Ethical, Social and legal aspects.

In 1946 the first mobile phone was created. In Sweden, police used this phone. this phone was like a two-way radio but, had to be connected to the cars radio to work. This phone could only take 6 calls before draining the cars battery. By 1967 mobile phones technology allowed the caller to stay within a very little calling area, since mobile base stations were unable to give calls from one area to the other. In 1983, Motorola invented the first real mobile phone: the DynaTAC 8000X. It weighed almost g. It was nicknamed the "brick" because of its length of 33.02cm and cost $4,000. Its battery allowed for one hour of talk time and could store 30 numbers. Mobile phones from the early 1990s on are considered second generation. The 1990s models are considered second generation because they were able to work on TDMA and CDMA systems in the U.S. and Europe, they used digital circuit switched transmission technology. The first 3G networks were introduced in 1998 and fourth generation "4G” networks in 2008.

Mobile devices have developed lots over the years from their layout of the phone to the social networking devices. Now everyone is connected via Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Flickr, Twitter and much more! The storage of the phone is now more advanced, with ICloud and 32GB of data available for most people.

Five different uses for the mobile phone used by everyone around the world are: 1) Texting – e.g Facebook messenger, IMessage and credited messaging. 2) Camera – to take photos of that one moment and the to be able to share it to the world. 3) Social Media – e.g Facebook, Whatsapp, Snapchat and more. (slide 4) 4) Calendar – to book appointments and use as a diary. 5) ing – to be able to get hold of the work place and keep in touch with people. 6)Internet – to help find information on the go. 7)Maps – so that you can’t get lost or to find your way around. The impact of these developments are the fact that everyone is now connected and its easier to get in touch with someone then you would think. Everyone is connected!

Ethical = Now many people use their mobile phones whilst driving on motorway's and busy intersections this is illegal and could lead to a £90 fine, this could also be very dangerous! Social = a lot of people become very anti social and start to lose friends, and also slow down on work at school or the work place. Legal = Downloading software illegally is terrible and the are even worse offences to be looked at. One of the things that is now illegal is revenge porn this is where someone that you were in a relationship and you sent them inappropriate things the they put this on the web they could get up to two years in prison!
