Do you know the legend of Chang Eh & Hou Yi? It is told that in Yao's reign, ten suns filled the sky and droughts caused crops failure. Many people died of hunger. The Emperor of Heaven therefore sent the archer Hou (Prince) Yi to help the people. Hou Yi, with his beautiful wife Chang Eh, descended to the Earth. He drew his bow and arrows and shot down nine suns. The earth was saved and Hou Yi became a hero. However, some gods were envious of the ability of Hou Yi. Hou Yi and his wife were forced to leave Heaven and stay on Earth forever. Life was hard on the Earth. Hou Yi, however, still had faith and hoped that he could live with his wife happily forever. He obtained the elixir of immortality from the Queen Mother of the West. Chang Eh, however, resented the hardship of her new life as a human, take the elixir and flew to the moon.
