Presentation transcript:

Why take Co-op? - Co-op prepares students to make successful transitions to post secondary schools, work, and training. - Students will explore the realities of the modern workplace by getting hands-on experiences. -Students learn new skills, and polish ones they already have. Students gain excellent recommendations for university and college admissions. Some have already began apprenticeships, others have been able to confirm their future career paths.

Program Outline The first three weeks of the semester are spent in school organizing potential placements, doing assignments, and listening to a variety of guest speakers inform the students of skills rights and proper attitude that is appropriate for the workplace. Every other week, students will return back to school to check in with their teachers, hand in assignments, etc. Students are required to have 35 hours a week and are responsible for making up the hours that they have missed. A final display project is assembled by each student to promote their placement and co-op and to also share their experience.
