The aims of the project: Realize a concrete help project Make students involved in the project more sensible to humanitarian problems Raise awareness of the legal bases for humanitarian aid organization by getting in contact with local representatives Promote collaboration and group work Enhance students’ motivation for learning by comparing their learning and living situation with the one in underdeveloped country Encourage the acceptance of underprivileged people and understanding the nature of their situation Understand the meaning of solidarity for being active citizens Help the participants become aware of their own identity, become more tolerant

Lithuanian Red Cross Society Lithuanian Red Cross Society is a public, voluntary, humanitarian organization, the member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Federation, carrying out a humanitarian mission in Lithuania.

Ministry of Education of Belarus Republic, Public Institution of Education "Social-pedagogical center in Molodechno District" The center was established in 2004 on the basis of a former kindergarten. It employs 24 specialists: social teachers, educational psychologists, educators. In the department of pediatric social shelter the rehabilitation work is carried out by eight educators, a social teacher and an educational psychologist. The main task of the center is the prevention of family problems and help for children under 18 who face difficult living circumstances.

The main objective of the pediatric social shelter is the social - psychological and pedagogical rehabilitation of children, rehabilitation and correction of the parents-children relationships, helping parents to overcome the critical family situations. In an average during one year about 70 children between the ages of 3 to 18 have their rehabilitation here. The maximum term for living at a shelter for one child is 6 months. Pediatric- social shelter as a part of Social- pedagogical center in Molodechno

despite the fact that during the existence of the center a lot of work to create favorable conditions for living and rehabilitation of children has been being done, there is still a need to further improvement of the material basis of the institution, namely: Furniture (children’s beds, bedside tables, wardrobes, tables, chairs, a couch, furniture for playing); Household electronics (TV (large format), computer, printer, fax machine, electric cooker (large), washing machine (big)); Kitchen utensils; Jalousie, bedspreads, carpets; Plumbing Equipment; Equipment for the playground; Clothing After the thorough need analysis and the constructive dialog with the headmistress of the shelter I.Boyko it is clear that

There are some photos from the center:

Dividing of the tasks Slovenia: tables, chairs + printer Cyprus: a couch + furniture for playing Denmark: a TV (large format) Finland: a computer Germany: an electric cooker (large) Portugal: a washing machine (big) The Czech Republic: children’s beds + bedside tables France: jalousie + bedspreads + carpets Italy: plumbing equipment Hungary: equipment for the playground Turkey: wardrobes + fax machine Lithuania: Clothing + kitchen utensils

Final remarks: The tasks are divided preliminarily and can be changed if necessarily (during the Budapest meeting) The tasks could be realized during the EUSOLA project or later The preliminary cost of every ‘task’ should be arranged during the Budapest meeting (we suggest not more than 500 €) To do the tasks thoroughly every school should cooperate with the local branch of the Red Cross Society (especially to avoid the problems with the delivering of the ‘tasks’ through the customs of Belarus)

We are waiting for your comments and questions about our project!!!! Thanks a lot for your attention!!! ☺ ☺ ☺ Have a nice time here in Budapest!
