Project: Development of health professionals´qualifications in the ”Oresund Region” with respect to health promotion and rehabilitation of citizens after hip surgery.

Participants Lead partner: University College Sealand. Steering group: Region Skane: Ami Hommel, Helena Wallander, Camilla Anderson. Region Sealand: Niels Pedersen, Gitte Sonne, Britta Hørdam: Head of project.

Participants: 12 nurses from orthopeadic unit in Skane caring for patients after hip fracture and hip replacement. 12 Nurses from orthopeadic unit in Sealand caring for patients after hip fracture and hip replacement. 2 Senior lecturers from UCSJ/ nursing programme

Aims of prohip 1.To bind the two regions together by integrating specific public health services through e-learning solutions. 2.Development of nurses competencies in rehabilitation of citizens after hip surgery. 3.Development of an e-health concept with new knowledge concerning rehabilitation aimed at patients, their families and health professionals

New concepts E-Health concept: Evidence based knowledge - rehab nursing: High level of information for citizens and professionals Maximum use of competencies New technology, knowledge and safety for patients

New competencies Rehabilitation Nutrition Urine retention and infection Delirium Pressure ulcer In 5 groups nurses from Region Sealand and Region Skane develop clinical guidelines based on newest evidensbased knowledge.

We focus on: How to learn from each other in Denmark and Sweden. Sharing experencies. Challenges in Sweden and Denmark Differences in nursing activities in DK and SE Study visits. Study and learn together.

Activities Challenges: Patient follow up using questionnaire Measurement of patient reported data Clinical test of: pressure ulcers, nutrition, rehabilitation, urine infection and urine retention, mental and physical wellness. Development of e-health Implementation of new knowledge in practice

Activities in nursing programme Analytical skills and competencies Evidensbased nursing Minimizing the gap between the theoretical and clinical area. Systematic reviews due to critical reading. Preparing students to research, quality and assessement of nursing activities.
