Strategy of rehabilitation of radioactively contaminated land of Rivne region Master work M.I. Rybitsky Head: Ph.D. Kashparov V.O. National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine Education and Research Institute of Plant Science, Environment and Biotechnology Ecology and Sustainable Development Faculty

Relevance and necessity of the work Relevance. To date, Ukraine produced agricultural products containing radionuclides above the acceptable level (DR-2006), which leads to excess allowable average annual effective doses to the population of 1 mSv. Necessity of the work. Getting radiologically-friendly products by optimizing the application of safeguard measures with a view to protecting the population.

Main tasks: 1) do a literature review; 2) conduct measurements of radionuclides in the main dose forming food of the rural population in two critical settlements Rivne and Zhytomyr regions; 3) determine the list of most effective radiological protection measures in specific circumstances; 4) create a database of the radiological situation in the contaminated regions for two critical localities Rivne and Zhytomyr regions; 5) Use of the decision support "ReSCA" (rehabilitation strategy after the Chernobyl accident), developed by the IAEA, to optimize the application of safeguard measures;

The purpose of the work Purpose - optimization implementing anti-radiation measures in agriculture in radioactively contaminated areas in order to obtain "clean" products in the example of two critical test of settlements

Radioactive contamination and agricultural products To different zones of radioactive contamination in Ukraine 2293 settlements have been in 74's 12 administrative districts of the regions of Ukraine, home to about 2.3 million people. Now in Ukraine is villages where the specific activity of 137Cs in milk and meat than DR-2006 (100 and 200 Bq / kg, L, respectively) and 3-10 times less than 100 settlements, where the average level of radioactive contamination of milk may exceed permissible levels Dynamics of critical localities in which the effective dose exceeds 1 mSv per year (1) and specific activity of 137Cs in milk (2) is higher than the DR-2006 (100 Bq / l) according to dosimetry certification years

Protective measures in agricultural production At a late stage accident countermeasures are the primary means of rehabilitation of territories affected by the Chernobyl disaster. protective action 137 Cs 90 Sr liming 1,5–3,01,5–2,6 The application of mineral fertilizers 1,5–3,00,8–2,0 Organic fertilizers 1,5–2,01,2–1,5 Radical improvement of grassland: The first application of the accident further applications 1,5–9,0 1,5–3,5 2,0–3,0 1,5–2,0 Surface improvement of grassland 2,0–3,01,5–2,0 Feeding clean feed animals before slaughter 2–5 Introduction of cesium sorbents - Ferrocyn 2–5— Processing of rapeseed for oil Radiological efficiency (fold reduction of pollution) protective measures

OBJECTS AND METHODS Data analysis dosimetric certification in recent years ( ), and the availability of experimental data (conducted staff UIAR sampling milk, potatoes and mushrooms) showed that testing settlements to optimize the use of countermeasures can be with. Perga in Zhytomyr and c. Elne in Rivne. Map 137Cs contamination of the territory in the vicinity of settlements Perge and Elnya Dynamics of 137Cs content in milk of cows testing settlements

How to optimize the use of protective measures using ReSCA - Strategies for rehabilitation of territories contaminated after the Chernobyl accident Expert IAEA has been creating and decision support system to optimize the use of countermeasures in rural communities in the remote period after the Chernobyl accident, dubbed ReSCA - Remediation Strategies after the Chernobyl Accident (rehabilitation strategy after the Chernobyl accident)

Experimental determination of 137Cs in milk, mushrooms and potatoes in test locations In 18 samples of milk, 9 samples of fungi and 15 samples of potato otobrannыh in testovыh populated areas in 2011, has been measured activity of 137Cs. Udelnaya 137Cs activity in milk a cow in s.Perha sostavlyalya 103 ± 24 Bq / l (18 / 200 Bq / l) in fungi 9525 ± 2008 Bq / kg (3200 / 17,500) in potatoes 8 ± 2 Bq / kg (5 /12), and in the village. Elnya 137Cs in milk a cow ± 56 Bq / l (150 / 723 Bq / l) in fungi 4216 ± 641 Bq / kg (1630 / 6250) in potatoes 42 ± 8 Bq / kg (18 / 81) by DR Bq / l, 2500 and 60 Bq / kg, respectively;

Evaluation of 137Cs in pork and beef in test locations Due to the difficulty of experimental determination of 137Cs content in pork and beef (no samples) were calculated based on the assessment of soil contamination and soil conditions typical for test localities locality Type of soil Density pollution kBq/m2 KP Specific activity, Bq / kg beefporkbeefpork Perga Sod-podzolic loamy Elne Peat

Optimizing the implementation of protective measures in test locations Based on the data on pollution staple food of the population were prepared initial data for calculations. optimizing the use of countermeasures and development scenarios for critical rehabilitation settlements Zhytomyr and Rivne regions using RESCA shown: There are currently эffektyvnaya dose irradiation of the population in s.Perha sostavljaet 0.71 mSv / roar, something below the allowable urovnja of 1 mSv and is not required conduct of zaschytnыh of activities;

Optimizing the implementation of protective measures in test locations in s.Elne calculated effective dose is currently 1.89 mSv / Rick (the 1.74 mSv / Rick falls on internal dose due to the consumption of dirty food). The optimization (maximum dose reduction at the lowest cost), showed that ferrocene-containing feed additives that will reduce radiation doses to the local population to 0,895 mSv / year, that lower limit (1 mSv / year) and animal products get levels of contamination which will meet the requirements of AS The cost of these works is about 90 thousand. year. The total collective dose prevented man-Sv, and the average value of abstract dose tys.evro / person-Sv, which is quite justified.
