The Icon Game Use the game to generate individual response, as a tool with the entire class, at a literary station, or as an assessment tool. Using the Icon Game as they develop better communication, comprehension, and high-level thinking skills.

Q3 Cards The Q3 Cards provide a valuable tool for developing quality questions to differentiate curriculum through the use of the dimensions of depth and complexity. The question-stem cards can be used to hook student interest culminate an activity, or enhance a discussion.

Literature Response Journal A collection of worksheets that provides workspace to analyze each icon. A resource for the primary teachers and students who need more space for illustrations and labels.

Deep and Complex Look at Me Encourage your students to take a deep and complex look at the themselves, history figures, or literary characters. Students will demonstrate understanding on templates that require written and visual evidence.

Tiered Literacy Centers Tiered Literacy Centers encourages independent thinking and meaningful responses to fiction and nonfiction literature through the use of creative and support task cards. More than 60 engaging, tiered Task Cards that are leveled to promote a range of critical thinking skills.

The Flip Book A tool for designing differentiated learning activities. Segmented mix- and-match pages present thinking skills, research skills, options for sharing learning, and differentiation.

The Flip Book Too This book will provide significant, challenging content of appropriately differentiated lessons. The Flip Book Too, contains ideas that go along with independent study and learning center.

Deep and Complex Look Book A collection of templates for each of the depth and complexity thinking prompts (icons) that can be used to engage all learners. Templates can be used as whole class activities, independent study projects, collaborative learning tools, book reports, and pre/post assessments.

Independent Study These sets of materials are designed to be copied and put to work right away in your classroom. Each of the six sets directs independent study for all level of readers. It includes skills practice pages, charts to enlarge for the classroom, and record keeping and evaluation sheets to round out the program.

Frames Use these frame templates to get students to think like a disciplinarian or analyze a story. The frames are ready for classroom use and display and help facilitate the use of depth and complexity in the classroom.

Empower Primary and Inspire Change Your primary students will be scholars! This resource will explain to teachers the “how and why” of introducing and implementing the depth and complexity icons. It includes songs, worksheets, student examples, and photos to complement each lesson.

Differentiation Smart Reference Guide The 22 flip pages are designed from simple to more advanced, as they take teachers through the steps of differentiation. There are a number of content and grade specific examples throughout the pages. A Great Reference Tool!

Math Icon Cards A simple and easily remembered set of icons can be used to differentiated your math standards. Encourage your students with probing questions, complex thinking about math concepts, and research into math history. Each card has resources on the back.
