Habitat Loss A lot of reclamation and dredging projects makes the pink dolphins lose their home. The reclamation of Chek Lap Kok airport made them lose over 9km of habitat. Proposed Freight Container 10 and the Hong Kong, Macau, Zhuhai bridge are future threats to the dolphins.
How many are left? The Chinese White Dolphins are nearing extinction, as the population drops to only 80-140 around the Pearl River estuary.
Dolphins in Captivity Dolphins have been in theme parks all over the world such as Ocean Park. There they are well fed and allowed to breed.
