Childhood – Adulthood Frozen lake represents the thin line between childhood and adulthood Holden relates to the ducks Doesn’t understand where the ducks go; doesn’t understand where he’s meant to go in life Realizes some things are only temporary and things can change quickly Lake makes him reminisce on his own childhood
