Presentation transcript:

* The best way to communicate with your child’s teacher is through the assignment book. These books are checked daily by teachers. You may also contact us from 11:20-12:00 during our planning period.

* Reading Logs * All 3 rd Grade students are expected to read 20 minutes every night, five nights a week. Logs are due each Friday and a new log will be sent home in the Friday folder each week. Parents must sign the reading log after the student reads. This is part of your student’s homework.

* P=Positive Attitude * R=Respect Everyone and Everything * I=Individual Responsibility * D=Do your Best * E=Expect Success

* Good behavior is rewarded, however, there are consequences for students when they do not follow the school rules. We strive to make our classroom a safe and healthy environment for learning. We greatly appreciate your support !

* Your third grade student will have homework! It is very important that they are responsible and do their homework. Students will be asked to read 20 minutes and sometimes complete other homework assignments. This is up to the individual teacher. Students who do not do their homework will lose a PRIDE letter and be asked to complete the assignment during free time.

1. Make sure your child gets to bed early on school nights so he or she will be at their best! 2. Speak to your student about appropriate behavior at school. You can read our discipline policy for further information. 3. Make sure you sign your child’s assignment book each night. 4. Encourage your child to do his or her nightly reading and complete their homework assignments on time. 5. Sign and return your student’s Friday folder each Monday morning.

* Complete and turn in your student’s enrollment papers. * Send in your student’s school supplies as soon as possible.

* We’re going to have a great year!
