The main objective of this project concerns the introduction of benchmarking methodology in B&H universities as a modern management tool as well as the most effective quality enhancement method. Essential step in the further implementation of the Bologna process in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Fully supports the structural reform of higher education in the entire B&H. 1. Project goals

Benchmarking is important both conceptually and practically, It is used for improving processes at universities by examining processes and models and adapting their techniques and approaches. Benchmarking is an ongoing, systematic process for measuring and comparing the work processes of one organization to those of another, by means of an external focus to internal activities, functions, or operations. The establishment of a benchmarking methodology for BH HEI's will help the University to identify both their strengths and weaknesses at an internal level, and to face threats and opportunities at the external level, in order to improve the global quality and efficiency of services. Contribution to the improvement of the global performance of the institution, through the implementation of best practices. 1. Project goals – why this project???

Nature of the benchmarking initiatives is to: support an internal process for continuous quality improvement. strengthens an institution’s ability to successfully self-assess their institution; better understand the processes which support strategy formulation and implementation in increasingly competitive environments; measure and compare to the competition, i.e. how well are other higher education institutions in the sector performing, which higher education institutions are doing better and why; discover new ideas, strategical awareness; 1. Project goals – why this project???

Nature of the benchmarking initiatives is to: learn from others how to improve; obtain data to support decision-making with new strategic developments; set targets for improvement of processes and approaches in order to increase performance; strengthen institutional identity, strategy formulation and implementation; enhance reputation and better position the Institution; respond to national performance indicators and benchmarks; set new standards for the sector in the context of higher education reforms. 1. Project goals – why this project???

The wider objective of this project is to investigate benchmarking and its applicability to improvement of B&H HEI's performance and to cooperation in higher education. All this will take place according to the EU standards for benchmarking and will actively involve all students and staff members of all B&H universities. 1. Project goals
