Presentation transcript:

LV Power Supplies L.Jirden* u Detector solutions u Contracts u Tests u Outstanding issues *Presented by André Augustinus

LVPS solutions u All detectors (except PMD) have selected a LVPS solution: u Caen EASY u SPD, SSD, HMPID, FMD u Special LV module for SSD, separate contract. u HMPID separate INFN contract. u Caen SY1527 u T0, V0 – shared hardware u Caen SASY u TOF – separate INFN contract. u Wiener PL500/F12 u TPC, TRD, CPV, PHOS, M-TRG, M-TRK u Arem Pro u SDD – separate contract.

CERN Contract u Technical responsibles: u Hardware: PH/ESS group u Software: IT/CO group u Provisional contracts with Wiener and Caen have been drafted u Being approved by CERN management u Orders for samples possible now (!) u Bulk orders only possible later after formal approval of hardware & software u Piecemeal approval and order possible

Formal Acceptance Tests u Performed by PH/ESS and IT/CO groups u Test samples have been ordered u delivery end June – tests can then start u Tests u First: electrical characteristics under normal environment u Later: radiation and B-field u Some tests already performed in the past u All tests to be finished by November 05 u More info: (User name: Lowvoltage Password: detector) u Detectors should order test samples now if they wish to perform other tests !

Outstanding issues u Improved output protection for Wiener F12 u Proposed scheme accepted by TPC u Wiener asked to implement it – TPC ordered sample u Development cost (10kCHF) to be shared by all users – handled by PH/ESS u Rack layouts u Being reviewed in the “rack content meetings” u Demonstrator rack being set-up in Bat 4. u Final quantities and required delivery dates u Only partially available
