Presentation transcript:

Overall, the article talked about the basic requirements a person who is interested in becoming an architect would need to meet, such as: – Math – Science – Technology The article mentions an architectural engineering technology program that offers a concentration of courses in architectural design and graphic communication. Also, the fields of structures, mechanical systems, professional practice, and constructing technology. The program as a whole will both help and guide the students into being able to define, analyze and respond to several architectural problems and their results to improve their designing skills and processes.

Some of the requirements to be in a school to become an architect include being able to: Apply (current) knowledge of mathematics as well as being able to adapt to new applications. You are required to know Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2 and Trigonometry (Math A and B). The entry level in which a student enters depends on their high school preparation and the specific subjects(Math & English) placement examination. Students must complete all Math through Calculus I. In order to enter this school, a student must have a minimum combined GPA of 3.0.

In architecture profession science has a big impact also. As for the entering in architecture profession, there are some science requirements & Recommendations need to meet. Those are: – A bachelor of science degree program in architectural technology and an associate in applied science degree in architectural engineering technology are offered. – The associates of applied science degree in interior design provides graduates with basic knowledge and skills for entry-level positions in the interior design discipline. These are the varying needs for the profession.

Technology also has use in architect profession. As a series of computer courses has been developed – From which students have a variety to access to CAD & 3D computer modeling and animation applications. And as the program places graduates as technicians in the architecture professions. – However, each year some students transfer into a professional degree programs in architecture and related fields. A laptop, computer is required for students entering the architectural engineering technology program. The last but not the least, as a person need to know how to identify, analyze, and solve technical problems related to building design and site development.

Why did you choose this particular profession? Did you learn anything new about this profession? Is there anything else you would like to learn about it? What interested you about the article(s) you selected? How has the past year helped you to prepare for this chosen profession? What additional skills would you need in order to be successful in this chosen profession?

We chose this profession because, Since both of us are interested in the medicine field, we wanted to find out things about another career path and thought that being an architect would be interesting. Something new we learned about this profession is that in order to become an architect you must know all kinds of math => basic math, algebra, geometry, algebra 2, trigonometry, calculus and college algebra/trigonometry. We were interested in this article because it showed all the requirements a person would need to meet in order to become an architect and then it explained how each would be applied into the classes. The past year has helped us to prepare for this profession because as mentioned before it is required that we know certain subjects and as of now we have several of them, such as: basic math, algebra, geometry and somewhat algebra 2! Some additional skills we would need to meet in order to be successful in this profession would be: – To have an interest in the profession – To have a basic understanding in technology – To know physics – Be a good problem solver – Have creativity – Have the ability to communicate well – Have a basic understanding of the environment Building things in the correct spot
