WebQuest EDU 505 Multimedia/Internet Educators Professor: Harrison Yang

Ever wonder how many people in the world speak Spanish? Ever wonder how many countries out there use Spanish in their everyday life? Well this is your opportunity to choose one of those countries, research it, and then report back to the class about the country you picked! Have fun with this project and include as many details as you can about your country!

 You will chose one Spanish speaking country.  Then you will research it using the given websites and put the information into a PowerPoint presentation, or a poster.  You will include the following information: -Population, Capital, What the weather is like, What a typical school day is like, Flag of the country, money used there, name of Country, what there is to do for fun, 5 interesting places to visit, 5 interesting things to do in that country, 5 places of interests,10 pictures, and two Youtube videos showcasing your Spanish speaking country. ● Once complete, you will present your information to the class (in Spanish) and receive an oral grade.

1.Explore the first website on the next page to find a Spanish speaking country you find to be interesting. When you have a country please see your teacher and sign up for that country. No student can do the same country; countries will be given on a first come first serve basis. 2.Google search to find the required information on your Country. (Required information is found on the “task” page.) 3.Visit the Youtube website and find two good videos that showcase your Country. 4.Plan what you are going to say during your oral presentation (in Spanish). You may use one 3X5 index card to help you. Do not just read word for word off your powerpoint or poster, points will be deducted for this.

You will need to use the following links to complete your project. Click here to find a country After you have signed up with your teacher, type the name of your country in the search box and look for the required information by clicking here Click here to search for two videos that showcase your Spanish speaking country If you need help remembering a word in Spanish for your presentation use this link

You will be graded based on the following: Name of country …………………………………………………… ________________ (10pts) Population …………………………………………………………….________________ (5pts) Capital …………………………………………………………………..________________ (5pts) Weather …………………………………………………. …………….________________ (5pts) School day …………………………………………………………….________________ (5pts) Flag ……………………………………………………………………. … ________________ (10pts) Money …………………………………………………………………...________________ (10pts) 5 fun things to do/places of interest …………………. …..________________ (10pts) 5 places to visit ……………………………………………………..________________ (5pts) 10 pictures ………………………………………………. …………… ________________ (10pts) Video 1 ………………………………………………………….…….________________ (10pts) Video 2 ………………………………………………………………….________________ (10pts) Final Powerpoint or poster ……………….. …………….________________ (5pts)

You were asked to only research one Spanish speaking country. I would like you to now take out a piece of paper and write about 10 different Spanish speaking countries that you know about, after hearing all of the presentations from your classmates. From doing one research assignment, we have learned a plethora of new knowledge! Isn’t learning great!

You can modify this web quest for any level of Spanish that you would like. I have designed it for a level 2 Spanish class. If you would like to use it with a lower level, you may not want to require them to speak entirely in Spanish. For more advanced levels you may want to require them to teach a lesson on their country. The possibilities are endless here! I hope you have enjoyed this!
