Experiment with popcorn By Clayton

Explanation  The Scientific Method is an organized way of solving problems. Scientists use the Scientific Method to find the answer to their problem.  In the next slide it shows the steps to the Scientific Method. This is an experiment with popcorn.

State the Problem  Does Orville Redenbacher pop better than Generic?

Formulate your Hypothesis  I think Orville Redenbacher will pop better than Generic.

Identify and Control the Variables  Variables= popcorn Control=same size bag, same time they popped for is 1:50 seconds

Test your Hypothesis  First we popped the Orville Redenbacher for 1:50 seconds and the Generic for 1:50 seconds also. Next, we took it out of the microwave. Last, we counted the kernels in both bags.

Collect your Data We added the Generic and got 371. For Orville Redenbacher we got 233.

Interpret your Data  Generic had 371 pieces and for Orville Redenbacher it was 243 pieces of popcorn.

State your Conclusion  I was wrong because Generic has more popcorn in it than Orville Redenbacher.
