Chinese family meals traditionally include fan 饭 (rice) or mian 面 (noodles) and cai 菜 (dishes or vegetables). A Chinese meal is composed of these categories of food. Fan is the cereal grain component of the meal – which is fundamental and indispensable. Chinese cuisine

Common lunch and dinner foods Lunch and dinner have mostly the same foods. Rice or noodles are the most important part of the meal, rather than the meat. They use meat to flavor the dish rather than to be the dish.

What would you like to drink? When dining out, the Chinese drink tea with their meals. At home, they traditionally drink a thin soup as their beverage with their meal. More people are trying beverages with their meals and drink milk, soda pop, and juice.
