BE-RF DEC corrected : 612  129 cables due to misunderstanding between obsolete cables and cables to be removed for LIU project This lists all the 129 cables that can be removed between the low level RF in BOR and the high level RF, TFB and BI racks. I have marked ~ 50% already with purple tape and will try to finish this job over the next few months. We will also have a number of small cables (~400) that are not listed in the database that pass between our racks in BOR to be removed, but these we will undertake to identify and remove within the same time span.

Identified issues being addressed soon False floor & rack support structure in Booster Inspection performed by GS-SE Reinforcement legs under study Cable removal procedure Safety for people  Risk Safety for remaining cables  Analysis Waste management Re-commissioning after disconnection/removal Mistakes are likely and must be reversible Staged approach for disconnection: 1- single sub-systems - tests – 2- communicating systems – tests – handover to operation Test / QA procedure to be developed by equipment groups Shift works due to tight schedule (10-12 weeks for Booster and 8 weeks for SPS) Co-activities during YETS and EYETS  All these issues are discussed in weekly project team meetings

Conclusions Booster: an exhaustive approach is followed. Each listed cable is being analyzed by group owner/user (  Obsolete cables + Used cables). First results: Paper listings contain more obsolete cables than Gesmar So it is important to fully analyze them. A lot of cables seems already removed, although they are still listed in DB. Used/unused ratio varies very much, depending on the equipment groups considered Involvement of all equipment group is needed. The same methodology will be applied on SPS and PS.
