A Covenantal Meal “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you” (Luke 22:20). A meal ratified the covenant and showed that: – All parties associated agreed to the terms of the covenant – All parties were going to be committed to the terms of the covenant – They were understanding the consequences not only for obedience to the covenant, but also for disobedience; the blessings and the curses.
