Administrator role (Before) Students are arriving to register and I need to ask each of them to fill in a college form Where students are registering for a University of Plymouth partnership course, I also need to ask them to also fill in a UoP form Now I need to enter the college forms into the college student record system Ive also got to send the UoP forms so they can be entered by the University into their SR system Some partnership students need access to the Universitys VLE – I need to phone and ask for the entry of some of the forms to be prioritised. Its October and a number of students want to change their modules. Theyll need their access to the Universitys VLE modified – I need to call the University.

Administrator role (Before) The University called again to say they have different numbers to us on the courses and modules. They may not have the latest updates. Its November and the University is about to do a HESES return so we need to sort out the discrepancy in numbers quickly. Some of the students who changed modules have been in touch to say that their access to the Universitys VLE hasnt been modified yet - Ill need to chase that. An employer has requested confirmation of a students qualifications. Ill need to look this up and get back to them. … and theres more relating to the processing of exam results ! The University called to cross-check how many partnership students we have. Ill run a report and tell them.

Administrator role (After) Student arrives to register – Ill ask them to fill in a college form Now I need to enter the college forms into the college student records system Data automatically transmitted to LR – student can give access to potential employers Data automatically transmitted to the University for partnership students – numbers agree – fast access to Universitys VLE Partnership students change modules – Ill enter into SR system Data automatically transmitted to LR and the University – VLE updated – numbers still agree Results have come in – I need to enter these into the SR system (or my MIS Department will do a transfer for me) Data automatically transmitted to the LR and University
