direct objects and indirect objects #4 In some sentences with a compound verb, all parts of the verb share a single direct object. To diagram, connect the verb parts back together at the baseline. Then extend the baseline to hold the direct object. part one of compound predicate/verb simple subject direct object conj. part two of compound predicate/verb

Ex: Campers examined and compared maps.
