Presentation transcript:

Electric Power Steering Features 1.Reduce steering torque and reduce weariness while riding 2.Keep proper feed back from ground and improve controllability. 3.No power loss compare to hydraulic power steering 4.Compact layout with steering column and it saves weight and space 5.Return normal steering system when it has malfunction

System over view

System is almost same except EPS unit It means simple and space saving and light weight Steering system

Composition of EPS unit Steering system Position sensor (potentiometer) Worm wheel gear Motor Sleeve Worm gear

EPS internal operation EPS system Sleeve drive spline Drive by steer

EPS internal operation EPS system 1. Internal shaft is twisted (Refer red line ) 2. Shaft spring rate, clearance between yellow part and output shaft is designed optimum for natural steering feeling. 3. It generates sleeve movement and position sensor send signal to EPS ECU Sleeve

Position sensor drive by sleeve and send electrical signal to the ECU EPS internal operation EPS system Position sensor Position sensor sends electrical signal to the ECU

EPS operation EPS system Motor drives steering column through worm gear and worm wheel
