Dartmouth College Class Officers Weekend 2015 And we beat last year in number of mini-reunions held! 62 more mini- reunions than last year, representing a 17.4% increase … … bringing together nearly 8,000 alumni and guests!

Dartmouth College Class Officers Weekend 2015 But let’s analyze these numbers… The number of mini-reunions per active (and reporting) class increased! FY08-15 Avg # of Mini-Reunions per Class

Dartmouth College Class Officers Weekend 2015 Digging a little more into this year’s data… We can see that 50.8% of mini-reunions in FY15 were NEW EVENTS! Dartmouth College Class Officers Weekend 2015 …and keep doing what you’re doing! Last year’s reunion attendance brought almost 5,000 alumni and guests back to campus, breaking an overall attendance record. Our good work with mini-reunions reached almost 8,000 alumni and guests this year, nearly 3,000 more!

Partner with cluster classes – agree on objectives, communication strategy, and budget Use Google documents to stay organized Reach out directly to classmates with an ask Consistent marketing/communication Follow-up with organizers quickly Types of events Xth day or milestone birthdays (multi-city/modal) Tailgates at Dartmouth sporting events Catered meals/planned lunches Happy hours Different locations/destinations Charity/volunteering Club or College sponsored events

Brings classmates together fostering the connections between classmates Over the course of time between reunions In different locals across the country and around the world Is open to all members of a class Can be multi-day “destination” events, single day events, lunches/dinners, or “virtual mini reunions” What is a “Virtual Mini Reunion? A way to engage classmates from around the globe at virtually no cost A way to reach classmates who don’t live near metropolitan areas A chance to get classmates interacting real time An easy way to reach out to your classmates, get updated, and get updated info on them Can be done via Facebook (the most popular), s, or via the Class website. Or a combination Are a complement to regular mini reunion program

Classmates are asked to report something of interest they are doing on a specific day (e.g. the 79 th day of the year for Class of ’79), submit photos if they wish, perhaps answer a question like “what is your favorite memory from Hanover?” Or “What do you want to see included in our next reunion schedule?” Many classes have had more than 100 classmates participate Classmates can post photos which add to the fun How do I organize/promote a Virtual Mini Reunion?
