What is the effect of HAPPINESS on performance? boost of energy OR giddy and distracted?

Emotional Intelligence …refers to the effective application of emotional and social skills that enable one to successfully cope with the demands of life.

Emotional Intelligence …means being INFORMED by but but NOT RULED by your emotions.

Emotional Intelligence …involves both CORE skills and HIGHER-ORDER skills.

Core Skills 1.Knowing Yourself - recognizing and understanding your emotions 2.Maintaining Control – staying calm amidst the chaos 3.Reading Others – understanding how and why people feel and act as they do 4.Perceiving Accurately – scrutinizing your biases and filters in order to assess objectively 5.Communicating with Flexibility – authenticity; communicating with respect for the other person
