Why is there a new hot work process? To clearly document the requirements for completing hot work at IOC To be consistent across Sept Iles and Labrador City operations To improve the controls in place for hot work April-23-17 Presentation – PAGE 3

Hot Work areas A hot work permit is required for all hot work on site that is not conducted in a designated area Designated areas Is a specific area designed and approved for hot work on a continual basis e.g. welding bays Hot work permit areas Is an area where hot work is permitted provided that they are made fire safe, a Hot Work Permit has been issued and a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) has been completed Prohibited areas Is an area where there is a high potential for fire and / or explosion or where combustible hazards cannot be adequately controlled. Permit Records Permit issued by an IOC Leader Permit is reviewed by workers doing the job Fire watch signs off permit 60 minutes after completion of the task All hot work permits shall be kept at the job site for the duration of the permitted task The permit shall be available for inspection by other parties including your supervisor, safety advisor etc April-23-17 Presentation – PAGE 8
