The average American consumes ~100 pounds of sugar from food and beverages per year. That's almost 1/4 pound of sugar per day!

Consuming one or more sugar sweetened beverages daily increases your risk for overweight and obesity Nearly 50% of American's increased calorie intake is from sweetened beverages. Drinking 1-20 oz soda per day adds 235 cal/day, and can add up to 25 pounds per year

Increased consumption of sugar sweetened beverages can cause tooth decay and cavities

Natural Sugars: Where are they found? -Whole fruits and vegetables -100% fruit juice -Milk What are they? -Sugars that are found naturally within a food
