“The World Is Too Much With Us” Nature is no longer as important as it once was held. Personification is shown in this poem giving the sea human like characteristics. The rhythm of the poem helps express its ideas on nature and the world today. The tone is sad and depressing discussing the loss of nature’s beauty and meaning in today’s world.

Questions… Nature in the past is much more beautiful than the nature of today. The powers to see nature as the beauty it really is. The people now are more preoccupied with materials and other objects rather then nature. The Volta is at the point where he says, “Great God,” he says this to catch the reader’s attention and bring them back into the meaning of the poem. The Gods could help people get back in tune with nature by amazing them with miracles. The world is meant to stand for the nature and environment today. Preoccupation gives people wrong intentions for doing things and distracts them from what is really important. Out of tune with nature is generalizing the idea that people do not simply enjoy life anymore. The theme is still relevant today because nobody really enjoys life anymore.

“It is a Beauteous Evening Calm and Free” Theme: Experience allows you to see things differently. The holy time is quiet as a Nun breathless with adoration. - simile This poem deals with the nature of the Earth that God created and how his daughter sees it differently than him, because she is younger. His tone is tranquil; he is first talking about the beautiful nature God created then his daughter and how she views it differently than him.

Questions… 1. He compares the evening to a quiet Nun. 2.     He thinks mature is calming and beautiful. 3.     He hears a sound like thunder. 4.      He believes God is making that sound and this suggests that he is very religious. 5.      In line 9, he addresses his daughter. 6.     God is always with the child. 7.      Her view is still divine because she is young, but she appears untouched by the “solemn thought”. 8.      They both believe that God is with them. 9.     At line 9 when he starts talking to his daughter, the poem changes.

“My Heart Leaps Up” Theme- Paradox- “The child is father of the Man” Its very broken up to emphasize things. I think the tone stays about the same the whole time. The Speaker seems happy.

Questions… A child can not really be the father of a man. He would rather die than lose the rainbow in the sky. Natural piety. When his life began, being a man, growing old. That they could all be bound with devotion. Reverence or devotion.
